INCLUSION, EQUITY, COOPERATION SEMINAR

On April 3, 2025, the annual scientific conference of the “Inclusive Education” section took place. Under the mentorship of academic supervisors Sergiy Sydoriv and Lidia Sydoriv, third- and fourth-year students specializing in “Elementary Education” and “Preschool Education” presented their research studies.

The participants honored the memory of those who lost their lives in the war  and expressed their gratitude to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the opportunity to study and exchange knowledge and experiences.

The conference addressed a range of topics, including general issues related to the education of children with special needs, organizing an inclusive learning environment, cultural and artistic dimensions of inclusion, practical aspects and technologies, as well as social inclusion and rehabilitation.

Students analyzed the prospects of inclusive education, emphasizing the importance of training educators capable of working in an inclusive setting. They highlighted the role of vocational colleges  and universities in training professionals who can implement inclusive teaching methods.

Additionally, the discussion covered the cultural and artistic dimensions of inclusion, such as theater, music, art, and media, which facilitate the integration of children with special educational needs through creative practices. The students shared their personal experiences of attending theatrical performances that contribute to the socialization and creative development of individuals with special needs.

Attention was also given to assistive technologies that support inclusive education, particularly specialized programs for children with sensory disabilities. A special mention was made of the psychosocial rehabilitation of veterans, including through inclusive initiatives such as the Sun Bakery in Ivano-Frankivsk, which operates under the Monastery of Saint Joseph and serves as a space for rehabilitation and employment for people with special educational needs.

During the gathering, students spoke about various community and volunteer organizations that contribute to promoting inclusion.

We extend our gratitude to all participants for their insightful presentations, profound experiences, and commitment to improving education! We thank the academic supervisors for their quality mentorship, and support! And we sincerely thank the Armed Forces for the opportunity to study in independent Ukraine!
